Admissions Arrangements

Please note the local authority, Leicester City Council, make all decisions relating to school admissions. The school does not make decisions about admissions. Their number is 0116 454 1009. Information on how to apply, application forms and details of the local authority's school admission criteria for 2025-26 entry are all available on the Leicester City Council school admission service website.

The admission authority for Overdale Infant School is Oak Multi Academy Trust. The Trust is responsible for ensuring that the school complies with the relevant law and guidance in respect of Admissions and Appeals for state-funded schools. Overdale Infant School has recently undertaken consultation on decreasing their PAN from 120 to 90 (letter attached below) and this will be in effect from the academic year 2025-2026.

We have a wonderful preschool for children aged 3 and above. Many children enter the main school from the preschool each year, but securing a place in the preschool does not guarantee a place in the main school. Click here to visit our preschool website.

Catchment Area — This map shows the priority or catchment area for our school. This is correct for 2013 admissions onwards.

Please also visit the Department for Education where you will find more in depth information about the school.

Appeals

All parents will have a right of appeal if an application for a school place is refused and this will be detailed in the refusal letter. Appeals that are to be heard as part of the normal round will be heard in accordance with the appeals' timetable published on the LA’s website.

Parents may contact the School Admissions Service if they require clarification of the procedure that will be followed in respect of an appeal.
