All schools have been given money called the 'Schools Sports Premium' as part of the London 2012 Olympic Legacy.
Overdale Infant School is using this money in a number of ways to enhance our PE provision for the children and further promote a healthy lifestyle.
Please find attached the document which shows our spending for this academic year (2017-2018).
Questionnaire for the children:
Last year we sent out a questionaire to find out how the children felt about PE and fitness in school. It helped us to get more ideas of things we could do. We would like to do this again, so look out for your questionaire and please fill it in.
It is really helpful to see what you enjoy about our PE lessons and your ideas for things we could do in the future.
Leicester Riders Assembly
We had a visit from the Leicester Riders Basketball team. They took an assembly for the children, showing their skills and getting some of the children involved. They then ran an after school club for the children.
Leicester City Football Club
This year we have made links with Leicester City. Their coaches are coming into school to run a programme of sports skills with the children for an hour a week. They are currently working with Year 2 children and will be focussing on Year 1 later in the academic year.
Take a look at some of the things the children have been doing!...
Last year we took part in a Fitness First event. The children said they thoroughly enjoyed the activities and it made them sweat! They raised over £600, to be shared between LOROS and the school.
We are having another Fitness First Sponsored event in November and hopefully it will be even more successful this year! Look here for pictures of the event soon!
In the meantime, take a look at last years event!
We have a range of after school clubs that take place in the school hall. All are very popular! Take a look here - soon there will be photos of their activity!
